i wish i could live in a world full of happiness, trippy places and liminal spaces

I think I have already told you (or maybe not, I don't remember XD) this in my Spirit Fisher's review but I do genuinely feel the mastering and mixings of your songs are one of the best I have heard in my entire life, I can't recall any other songs with such dynamic sounds and movements.

This song just made me confirm that even more, it's so motherfucking crazy, everything about it is so intense and phenomenal!

Incredibly well done!

GameBoyFireworks responds:

Thank you so much!! You are so kind. I love your music as well

Sounds sick! I love it!

Well done, guys

Creeperforce24 responds:

@preds ain’t surviving this one!

You were right! This is sick!

Congratulations on the 100 followers, bro!

DancarMar responds:

Thank you so much!!!

The drums aren't too bad, I do actually really like them! Tho, to be honest, I feel like the kick and snare should be more punchier, and I don't really feel like the percussion you used in this song fit that much the DnB style.

The bass notes you used definitely need some compression, they sound too loud to the point they sound distorted.
The melody that starts at 1:21 is also too loud, and it's pretty much just random notes that don't really let you get catched to the song.
The sound at 2:34 feels really out of place and it's also pretty loud, tho I kind of like the really reverbered and delayed percussion you used after that.

I don't really like how after ending at 3:00 the song abruptly starts again at 3:04 out of nowhere. This time ends up a little better, though.

I think you wanted to go more like a liquid DnB style, tho I'm not too sure since I don't really know that well the DnB subgenres, but if you wanted to go for that, I would recommend you try to use punchier kick and drums and a reverbered piano alongside a synth bass.

pancakelizard responds:

alright thanks for the comment, I didn't use the amen break I just used some stock midi ableton drums.

This is a very good melody for a first song, actually!

But that's kind of the problem, it is mostly just a melody. (with some hi-hats added)
This makes the song not be catchy and feel pretty much empty.

I would recommend you try adding chords and a bass to make a "full-er" song. You could also try to add counter-melodies, but I would stick with chords and bass first!

Also, it is nice you added drums, but they aren't really hearable and it's mostly just hi-hats. Try to add kicks and snares to make a more composed rythym.

Still, it's nicely done!

Edit: I see, I do understand that!

Try to start with the bass or the chords and NOT with the melody, since it is a lot harder to make some good chords or bass from just a melody instead of the contrary.

wons responds:

well that's my problem with this piece too. I have no idea what to do besides melody, which is so fast and so busy that i don't know how to work with it well. The best i could do is keep adding various instruments like the hi hats or the drums but i was afraid that would make the whole thing too noisy. My other attempts at fixing this was making other melody patterns or cut and piece together existing ones to make them fresh-ier.

Actually there's second guitar track that acts as chords here (or atleast was supposed to). But for some reason, it gets muted when main guitar is playing. The chords are present through basically entire song. There's this section in 0:20-0:34~ where the chords are played without main guitar.

Also, i tried to mess around with drums but i have no idea how to do that. (my attempt at drums starts at 0:30). I had no idea how to implement it working with main guitars. I mostly blame the complexicity of main guitar. My issue with bass was that it wasn't loud enough or noticable so i scratched, because i was so afraid of putting too many instruments that add nothing to the whole thing.

Thank you for your time and advices. I will look into that.

Oooh, this sounds like from a videogame! It reminds me of old NG flash games specifically, in fact.

Pretty good job, it is a bop! :)
